I am trying to track down information on an engine that was originally in the Historic tugboat SAND MAN (www.tugsandman.org). The engine was a 50hp Frisco Standard that was the floor model during the Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition in Seattle, WA in 1909. The engine was used in this tug for about 12 years and then replaced with a larger 100 hp Fairbanks Morse. The current engine is a 1940's Cat D13000M that was installed in the tug in 1941 and has since been rebuilt. I am on the board of the foundation that owns and has restored this old tug. We are trying to track down as much information on the history of the boat as possible. I noticed that some one has scanned images of Frisco Standard Marine Engine spec sheets on this site(http://www.oldmarineengine.com/history/Standard/standard_gas_engine_co.htm). Does any one know if any of these would be the same engine that was originally in SAND MAN. Does anyone have any other photos or spec sheets from this engine. Thanks Kyle |
